Hispanic Organization Public Employees (HOPE) is a common interest, non-profit and nonpartisan organization committed to supporting present and future corporate objectives and to assisting in the development and advancement of its members at CPS Energy and in the community it serves.
HOPE was founded in 2003 and is currently open to all active and retired CPS Energy employees. Working in partnership with CPS Energy and the Diversity Council, HOPE launched its official kick-off and became the utility's first employee networking group.
In its first year, the organization gained momentum, and in 2004, HOPE successfully held the first Tribute to Hispanic Banquet to recognize community leaders and raise funds for scholarships. In order to increase fundraising capabilities, HOPE leaders moved to officially establish the organization as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, and has worked to maintain this important designation over the years.
Perhaps the most telling of all the HOPE success stories is that, as of 2024, 138 scholarships totaling $ 240,600 have been awarded to deserving students in our community and 123 community honorees.
The HOPE mission is to inspire leadership development, create goodwill in the community & promote academic excellence through scholarships.
As employees and retirees from CPS Energy, we take pride in our organization. As such, we continually strive to fully integrate CPS Energy's People First philosophy into the fabric of the HOPE organization. Our organization is for the people, and we acknowledge and respect that our success is based on contributions m
