Herlinda Sifuentes serves as Operations Director Hispanics Inspiring Students Performance and Achievement (HISPA). HISPA is a non-profit 501(c)3 that encourages students' success by recruiting, supporting and coordinating Latino professionals' participation in educational programs in the communities where they live and work. In the last two years, Herlinda has successfully implemented the HISPA model in schools in San Antonio and has developed relationships with leaders from the private and public sector engaging them as active role models for our youth.

Born and raised in San Antonio, Herlinda was the first of eight children to attend college. She has an Associate of Public Administration from San Antonio College, BS in Disciplinary Management from Texas State University and an MBA in Business Administration from Wayland Baptist University. After graduating from Edgewood High school in 1968 she began her career with AT&T in 1969 and retired with 41 years of service in August 2010. She held various positions and retired as Manager, Business Services Sales Agency.

Some of her accomplishments include: 36 years Perfect Attendance, exceeding sales objectives reaching 153% sales quotas, invited to attend Southwestern Bell's President's Circle in 2000 and 2001. Her responsibilities included: resolution of FCC (Federal Communications Commission) and PUC (Public Utilities Commission) customer complaints for the Sales Agency and managing Communications Consultants in the 5 state area for Business Markets.

During her career at AT&T, she is a founding member of HACEMOS, the AT&T Hispanic Employees Resource Group, providing support for the company's commitment to diversity and inclusion through efforts in the workplace, the marketplace, and the community. Herlinda served various leadership positions at the local and national level. Since its inception, HACEMOS has provided over a million dollars in scholarships and has offered educational programs impacting thousands of students.

Herlinda believes in service to community and is forever grateful to everyone that has inspired her throughout her life. She is a strong advocate for education and the advancement of Latinos in the community. Her dedication is shown by her engagement in various organizations including, founding member of the Edgewood Education Foundation Board, VP Programs, Past President of Pan American League, GED Fabulous Brunch, Associate Member of Missionary Catechists of Divine Providence, volunteer of; the Benitia Humanitarian Award Gala, Communities in School, honoree of Image de San Antonio "Outstanding Women Role Models" and the Governors's Yellow Rose Award, member of the 173d Airborne Brigade Association-Texas Chapter 13 ladies support group, life member of Ladies Auxiliary of the Military Order of the Purple Heart Ch 1836.

Herlinda is married to Viet Nam Veteran and local artist Roberto Sifuentes. Proud parent of Bianca, Ursula, and Paloma, has 5 grandchildren. She is a cultural influence and guiding force of loving heritage and believes one should always remember where you came from.
