Rosie Castro


Maria del Rosario (Rosie) Castro is a native San Antonian. She is a consultant, trainer and facilitator who specializes in leadership training and leadership program development. She facilitated the work of the Blue Ribbon Committee that created the Westside Education and Training Center, a partnership of the Alamo Community College District, Edgewood I.S.D., the City of San Antonio’s Economic Development Department and the Annie E. Casey’s Making Connections initiative and many other groups and residents.

Currently she is facilitating for a coalition brought together by Councilwoman Mary Alice Cisneros which is creating a District One Education and Training Center.

She is a graduate of Our Lady of the Lake University and has a Masters degree in envirnmental management from U.T.S.A. Her past public service includes employment in the City of San Antonio’s Human Resource Department and with the San Antonio Housing Authority. She has taught public administration courses at San Antonio College and graduate courses at U. T. S. A. She is the vice president of AMIGOS DE Memorial Library.

She is the mother of twin sons: State Representative Joaquin Castro and former City Coucilman Julian Castro.
